“Success is…knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others.”
― John C. Maxwell
This quote has been very dear to Raj for many years now. Instead of just saying that we need more people that do the good in the world, he always believed that in order to become the inspiration, we need to reflect and change to make any type of difference in this world. Throughout many years, Raj Jhaveri has supported a number of nonprofit organizations around the world, as well as several in its immediate community.
He’s been an active advocate for those who are homeless and are truly struggling to survive. Raj was first inspired when he moved to New York City in 2010 and had dinner with an elderly Asian woman that was pan-handling inside Port Authority’s subway. He was so moved and worked up by her story, that he wrote about it. You can read the full story here.
Ever since then, he has randomly been taking homeless people out to lunches and dinners, and alongside with some of his closest friends, he has physically been giving back to the community every year, inspiring more and more people to join him.
Raj is currently working on forming his first non-profit, The Urban Nerd Effect, where global causes and charities are conveyed through entertainment and free networking events. Today, as Raj grows, so does his commitment to philanthropy and the community.
